Veteran’s Day is just around the corner. Check out ways to show support to our Veteran’s and Active Troops!
Did you know there are currently 1.29 million people reported as active duty Troops? And roughly 170,000 of those Troops are stationed overseas. That means Holidays, Birthday’s and Family Events look a little different for them. So, if you’re looking for ways to Support our Veterans and Troops this Veterans Day, check out the details below!

1. Donate That Candy!
The Blue Star Mothers of America are taking candy donations until November 13th, and on the 16th, they are looking for help from anyone who wants to help put together Care Packages! These care packages will go to our troops overseas, along with handmade Christmas stockings, sock because everyone needs socks, and letter’s and postcards from local students sending their many thanks for protecting our Amazing Country! USA USA USA!

2. Handmade Letters to Veterans and Troops!
Stop by the North Valleys Library from November 1st - 8th to create a handwritten note of gratitude and encouragement to retired military veterans and active service members! The library will distribute these notes to the Northern Nevada State Veterans Hospital and to deployed troops at the Naval Air Station in Fallon, and the USS Nevada SSBN-733! Share what you love about America, is it the Natural Parks, the Coastlines, the Freedom that we have to live each day how we want? And while you're writing that down, don't forget to share how you appreciate all they've done to help protect us and this country, making all of those wonderful things possible.
