When it comes to outdoor fun and adventure, The North Reno Area boasts some of the best playgrounds and parks that will keep kids entertained for hours. From swings and slides to climbing walls and water features, these parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, provide great opportunities to meet old friends and make new ones, and best of all, they're FREE!
I often get asked about our favorite playgrounds, so I thought I'd share my family's top five local playgrounds and parks with you.
1. Eagle Canyon Park
Address: 400 Eagle Canyon Drive, Sparks, NV 89441
What we love about Eagle Canyon Park:
There is a really nice, covered picnic area with plenty of tables for everyone, with grills for BBQing, and plenty of parking. The best part of this park is the playground by far. The playground is unique and very fun. There is soft padding underneath the playground for our wild ones, with plenty to climb on and there is a smaller playground for the little kids, making it great for all ages!

2. Gator Swamp Park
Address: 255 Egyptian Dr, Sparks, NV 89441
What we love about Gator Swamp Park:
This Park offers a large grassy area to play on, that also includes a baseball field and horseshoe pit making it fun for the whole family! There is also a nice, paved path around the park making it great for scooters, bikes and strollers. Gator Swamp also offers a covered eating area with picnic tables, so bring your lunch! And it offers both a large and small playground, both of which are "Gator" themed.

3. North Valleys Regional Park
Address: 8085 Silver Lake Rd Stead, NV 89506
What we love about North Valleys Regional Park:
This park has it all, from a Splash Pad Park to a few baseball fields, a soccer field, hiking trails, and playground. This park is great for all ages, any season! They also have a huge pavilion that you can rent for birthdays or events and a community center with events of their own!

4. Lemmon Valley Park
Address: 325 Patrician Drive, Lemmon Valley, Reno NV 89506
What we love about Lemmon Valley Park:
This is a 10 acre park, surrounded by snow capped mountains during the winter is nothing short of a beautiful view, with an all-ages friendly playground, picnic tables, soccer fields, baseball fields and batting cages! This hidden gem is located in Lemmon Valley, and if you've never been now, you have a reason to go explore.

5. Dick Taylor Memorial Park

What we love about Dick Taylor Memorial Park:
This is a great little hidden gem. Everything from tennis, football, soccer, baseball, and basketball courts and fields! This park offers 2 playgrounds great for all ages. A big open field to run around on, and lots of shaded areas and picnic tables and benches located throughout!
